European Trade Show Yields Significant Results for Seven Idaho Outdoor Recreation Companies

BOISE, Idaho—Wednesday, April 18, 2018— Idaho Department of Commerce exhibited at the IWA Outdoor Classics in Nuremberg, Germany March 9-12 to assist seven Idaho-based outdoor recreation companies specializing in the production of guns, outdoor gear, and accessories. Idaho companies 2A Armament, Alien Gear, Integrity Ballistics, KCarry, NEMO Arms, Riverman Gun Works, and Odin Works were showcased alongside Idaho Commerce within the U.S. Pavilion at the trade show.

“Expanding on the success of 2018 Shot Show in Las Vegas in January, participating in IWA Outdoor Classics was a logical next step in our continued commitment to showcase and promote Idaho’s outdoor recreation industry,” said Idaho Commerce Director Bobbi-Jo Meuleman.

The 45th edition of IWA Outdoor Classics, one of the largest annual expositions for hunting, shooting sports, outdoor activities, and security, ended on a positive note after four successful days, which included 1,558 exhibitors from 60 countries and almost 47,000 trade visitors from approximately 130 countries. Almost two-thirds of the trade visitors and 8 out of 10 exhibitors traveled to Nuremberg from outside Germany, rendering plenty of quality discussions during the event and successful post-show business.

Nina Bookout, Director of Sales and Business Development for Integrity Ballistics, has attended three years in a row and noted, “This third year of attendance is the best yet. We were able to identify and start contracting with new distributors, with new agencies, and are already in the process of finalizing sales. We will see a 120% increase in market sales/share internationally due to our presence and progress at IWA 2018.”

In just a few weeks, Idaho co-exhibitors have already reported sales of over $68,000 with projections expected to reach $630,000.

Idaho Department of Commerce organizes industry trade shows each year to provide Idaho companies opportunities for success. As an eligible State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) activity, IWA Outdoor Classics was funded in part through a grant with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
