From Idaho Commerce Director Jeff Sayer:

“The Department of Commerce has recently announced a new organizational structure to support the agency’s ultimate goals and objectives of making the state of Idaho among the top states in the nation for doing business.

Unfortunately, one element of this organizational change is that the Tourism Administrator, Karen Ballard, is no longer working with the Department of Commerce. We will miss Karen’s passion for the tourism industry, and emphasize that her departure is in no way related to her performance or any other issue. She has been a valuable asset to the Commerce team and we wish her the best of luck in her future, wherever that may take her.

Commerce will soon be seeking candidates for a new Tourism Manager role that will report to a new Business Creation Division Administrator, and until then are moving forward with business as usual in the hands of a fully competent and driven Tourism team at Commerce.  Thank you in advance for your support and patience during this time of transition – I am committed to this key industry in our state and look forward to an even stronger partnership moving forward!”
